Smiles for Children is a nonprofit organization dedicated to brightening the lives of children facing medical challenges. We partnered with Vermont Teddy Bears, known for their high-quality stuffed animals, to provide comforting toy bears to children in hospitals.
By working together in partnership with local contractors such as Aeret Restoration and iB Construction, we were able to put smiles on the faces of 100 children at Golisano Children’s Hospital in Florida. The cuddly Vermont Teddy Bears provided much-needed hugs, support, and cheer during difficult times.
Our mission at Smiles for Children is to spread joy to children enduring hardship due to illness or injury. We believe every child deserves to smile, even during recovery in the hospital.
To fulfill our mission, we provide toys, games, crafts, and other festive items to brighten pediatric units. Our goal is to make the hospital environment warmer and more comfortable for children facing health issues.
When we learned Vermont Teddy Bears wanted to get involved in our mission of bringing cheer to kids, we knew it would be a perfect fit. Their famously soft, cuddly bears have brought comfort and smiles to children for over 30 years.
We coordinated a special teddy bear delivery to Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida. The hospital distributed 100 smiling teddy bears to children who underwent surgery or faced other health difficulties. The bears brought tremendous joy.
Smiles for Children’s mission has always been to bring joy and comfort to young patients during their hospital stays. It’s with great pride that we delivered new cuddly companions to these brave children. Partnering with Vermont Teddy Bears allowed us to provide something that went beyond just a toy—these gifts were a source of comfort and emotional support in challenging times.
Providing a little warmth and companionship to these kids was truly rewarding. Our contribution wasn’t about the toys, but about conveying a message of love, support, and understanding. The impact was immediate. In every hug and smile, we saw firsthand how our efforts brought not just a momentary happiness but a lasting sense of security and love to these young hearts.

The cost of the 100 teddy bears was generously provided by Aeret Restoration, iB Construction, and other caring local contractors in Bonita Springs, Florida. Moved by Smiles for Children’s mission and Vermont Teddy Bears’ role in bringing comfort to kids, they stepped up to cover all expenses.
We’re incredibly grateful for their investment in supporting children’s health and well-being. Thanks to them, we could fulfill our vision of delivering Vermont teddy bear hugs to children who needed them the most.
